No. 1 automobile export port
The hinterland of the Port of Nagoya boasts being home to one of Japan's
leading industries, the automobile industry. Approx. 1.9 million completed
automobiles (passenger cars, buses and trucks) are shipped from the Port
of Nagoya, which makes our port the No.1 automobile exporting port in Japan.
In addition to automobiles, about 113,556 motorbikes are also exported
through our port. Shimpo Pier contains two car terminals owned by a major
automobile manufacturer. These facilities are equipped with yards capable
of accommodating a total of 38,000 cars, an inspection facility and a test
course.
