Background for Formulation of the Long-Term Concept
The environment faced by the Port of Nagoya has undergone significant changes in recent years, driven by the global push toward decarbonization and advances in information and communication technologies. To ensure sustainable growth, a new Long-Term Concept has been formulated to guide the Port's future development.
Thoughts in formulating Long-Term Concept
The Port's Long-Term Concept is not only a vision to guide the actions of those involved in the Port toward its future, but also a message to those whom we would like to be involved or to take interest in the Port going forward.
In formulating the Long-Term Concept, the following principles were emphasized:
- A vision that all people can empathize with
- Future image of the Port of Nagoya that people want to see in the long term
- Direction of concrete initiatives based on reality
Positioning of the Long-Term Concept
- Presenting a vision for the next 20 to 30 years and the policy directions to achieve it
- Serving as a shares guideline for the activities of the diverse stake holders in the development of the Port of Nagoya
- Serving as a reference for port development plans and specific implementation projects for the next 10 to 15 years
Target Year
20 to 30 years in the future (around 2050)
