First ship-to-ship bunkering to LNG-fueled PCTC at the Port

An LNG-fueled pure car and truck carrier receiving LNG fuel from an LNG bunkering ship

On May 10, 2023, the WILD ROSE LEADER, a Nippon Yusen Kaisha LNG-fueled pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), entered the Port of Nagoya for the first time. The next day, this PCTC received LNG fuel from the KAGUYA, an LNG bunkering ship.

This was the first ship-to-ship bunkering at the Port of Nagoya.

When used as a fuel, LNG has a low environmental impact and emits less carbon dioxide (CO2) than other fossil fuels, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Nagoya Port Authority exempts LNG-fueled vessels and LNG bunkering vessels from all port dues for the creation of a supply base of LNG, an eco-friendly fuel.
