Statistics 2015

In 2015, total cargo throughput at the Port of Nagoya was 198 million tons, decreasing by 4.6% from the previous year. However, the Port of Nagoya retained the top spot in the volume handled among all ports in Japan for the 14th consecutive year.

The cargo throughput in international trade was 131 million tons (down 5.2%). Major export items were completed automobiles, automobile parts, industrial machinery, steel materials and rubber products. Major imports were LNG, iron ore, crude oil, coal and wearable items.

Containerized cargo trade reached 47.5 million tons (down 3.8%), with the total number of containers at 2.63 million TEU (down 3.9%). With 1.32 million TEU outgoing and 1.31 million TEU incoming, container trade at the Port of Nagoya is well balanced.
