2019 Annual Trade

In 2019, total cargo throughput at the Port of Nagoya was 194 million tons,decreasing by 1.1% over the previous year.However, it is expected that the Port of Nagoya is keeping the top spot in the volume handled among all ports in Japan for the 18th consecutive year.

The cargo throughput in international trade was 126.38 million tons (down 2.5%).Major export items were completed automobiles,automobile parts,industrial machinery, steel materials and miscellaneous chemical products.Major import items were LNG,iron ore,crude oil,coal and wearable items.

Containerized cargo trade reached 48.71 million tons (down 2.9%),with the total number of containers at 2.84 million TEU (down 1.1%).With 1.43million TEU outgoing (down 0.9%) and 1.42 million TEU incoming (down 1.4%), container trade at the Port of Nagoya is well balanced.
