2020 Annual Trade

In 2020, total cargo throughput at the Port of Nagoya was 168.55 million tons,decreasing by 13.3% over the previous year.However, it is expected that the Port of Nagoya is keeping the top spot in the volume handled among all ports in Japan for the 19th consecutive year.

The cargo throughput in international trade was 107.62 million tons (down 14.8%).Major export items were completed automobiles,automobile parts,industrial machinery, steel materials and miscellaneous chemical products.Major import items were LNG,iron ore,crude oil,coal and wearable items.

Containerized cargo trade reached 41.89 million tons (down 14.0%),with the total number of containers at 2.47 million TEU (down 13.1%).With 1.24million TEU outgoing (down 13.3%) and 1.23 million TEU incoming (down 13.0%), container trade at the Port of Nagoya is well balanced.
