Statistics 2014

In 2014, total cargo throughput at the Port of Nagoya was 208 million tons, decreasing by 0.3% from the previous year. Unchanged from the previous year, the Port of Nagoya retained the top spot in the volume handled among all ports in Japan for the 13th consecutive year.

The cargo throughput in international trade was 138 million tons (down 1.7%). Major export items were completed automobiles, automobile parts, industrial machinery, steel materials and rubber products.
Major imports were LNG and iron ore.

Containerized cargo trade reached 49.4 million tons (up 1.0%), with the total number of containers at 2.74 million TEUs (up 1.1%). With 1.38 million outgoing TEUs and 1.36 million incoming TEUs, container trade at the Port of Nagoya is well balanced.
